C Series (C1 and C2F) Taps:

Power tapping will produce the best threads and increase the life of your taps.  C1 and C2F pins use the Finishing and Bottoming version.  The Finishing tap will be all you need for through holes.  You will need the Bottoming tap for blind holes.  The Bottoming taps will be at the bottom of the hole when they start to get tight.

C Series (C3 and C4) Taps:

Power tapping will produce the best threads and increase the life of your taps.  C3 and C4 pins use up to three taps:  Roughing, Finishing and Bottoming.  C Series taps should always be used in sequence.  Roughing first, then Finishing.  The Bottoming tap is used for blind holes.  The Bottoming taps will be at the bottom of the hole when they start to get tight.  The short C4 taps are for the C4 inserts.  The have an 'S' after C4 in their part number.
